Privacy policy
Updated October 16, 2026
This policy covers Piano Ink, including pre-release versions named PianoLevels or Piano Levels, and this website. The app is developed by Minuit AI Kft. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@minuit-ai.com and mention Piano Ink.
Recordings and music analysis
Piano transcription and harmony analysis run on your device. Microphone audio is recorded when you start a recording and grant microphone access. Files you choose to import, recordings, transcriptions, and playback settings are stored locally so you can view, edit, and replay them. The app does not upload your microphone recordings or imported local audio to an AI transcription service.
You can revoke microphone access in device Settings. Exporting or sharing a file sends it to the app, service, or person you choose; that destination handles the copy under its own privacy policy.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable library sync, saved song archives—including their audio, MIDI, score, edits, and song metadata—and playlists are stored in your private Apple iCloud database. This allows devices signed into the same iCloud account to synchronize your library. These archives are not placed in the public soundfont catalogue. History and downloaded soundfonts remain local to each device.
Turning sync off stops synchronization; it does not erase copies already stored in iCloud. To remove a synced song, delete it from Saved Songs with sync enabled and let synchronization finish on your other devices. Conflict or backup copies and files you exported separately may also need deleting. A small deletion marker can remain in iCloud to prevent an offline device from restoring a deleted item. You can also manage the app’s iCloud storage through Apple’s account and device settings.
Online media and downloads
Opening YouTube or SoundCloud, importing an online track, or displaying its video connects to those providers and their delivery services. They receive network information such as your IP address and the page or media requested, and may use cookies or account information in their embedded web pages. Any online media retrieval service used to resolve a link receives that link and network information, not your microphone recordings or local music library.
Optional soundfonts are downloaded from Apple CloudKit’s public catalogue. Download requests reveal the requested resource and ordinary network information to the hosting provider. The app keeps download and free-plan usage information locally to operate these features.
See Google’s privacy policy, SoundCloud’s privacy policy, and Apple’s privacy policy for their handling of data.
Subscriptions
Apple processes in-app purchases and subscription payments. The app uses purchase and entitlement information supplied by Apple to unlock Pro features and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment card details. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
Diagnostics, support, and this website
The PianoLevels app configuration does not enable advertising tracking or Firebase analytics. Apple may provide crash or diagnostic reports according to your device’s analytics-sharing settings. If you contact support, we receive your email and anything you choose to send, such as screenshots, diagnostic information, or a song archive. Send only files you are comfortable sharing and have permission to share.
This website uses hosting and security services to deliver its pages. These services process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, and requested URLs, and may use security cookies. The website does not ask you to upload recordings or create an account.
Retention and your choices
Local songs and history remain until you delete them or remove the app, subject to your device backups. Private iCloud data remains until you delete it as described above or remove the app’s iCloud data. Apple and online media providers control retention of data held by their own services. Support correspondence is kept while needed to address your request and any applicable legal obligations; contact us to request deletion.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we hold. Contact us using the email above to exercise those rights or raise a concern. You can also contact your local data protection authority. We use information to provide requested features and support, protect the service, and meet legal obligations; optional microphone access and iCloud use are under your control.
Apple, online media providers, and hosting services may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable privacy terms and safeguards. We do not sell your recordings or use them to train transcription models through this app.
Policy changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes to how optional features handle your information will be explained in the app or on this website.
